In the story quest line, The Peace Conference, which version do you get, Version 1 or 2 if you negotiated through the continental map?
According to a few comments on that page, Version 1 is for fighting and Version 2 is if you negotiate the map.
I wonder how reliable that is though
I guess players have solved that quest and then posted their observations.
Either way, what have you done? Negotiated or fought?
Negotiated. Depending which version I get will determine how far I get to in the continental map without having to go up an Era.
My gut feeling is that version 2 is for negotiation. I say this as the other version is more expensive and cumbersome, and, as evident throughout all questlines, the game tries to reward those people who have negotiated the map (for instance, more diamonds). The same applies in this scenario too.
Although I have just been there, I unfortunately do not remember the exact quest.
I remember the first part and I remember there was a quest where I needed to build residential buildings - if it was in the same quest or not, I can not say for sure.
Most probably I got the first version and like described in the comments I fought my way through the map.
Nope, i negotiated & got version 1 & now i am stuck as i can't research unless i go up an era ...
That is unfortunate to hear. But that is the problem with the quests - nobody besides the developers really knows what the conditions are for each quest branch - some of it the players can guess based on the results they got based on their play style, but some others they simply can not.
The condition to trigger that branch might have been your behavior in regard of a quest three or four quests back...
PS: Also you might want to change the wording of your comment.. as the person you accused of giving wrong information only made a bad guess.
I'm having trouble remembering the exact time I got this quest. I remember I got Version I, but... well, at first I was only negotiating, until I got the side quest "An Offer You Can't Refuse III" and completed it. Still, based on the next quests, I believe Version I is the peaceful version and Version II is if you used force previously - because the quest "Declaration of War" seems less demanding than the quest "All-Out War".
What do you think?
