Event mechanics[]

Viking Coins[]
These are the event currency for the Vikings Event 2025. You use them to throw axes at the Viking Wheel and to open Rune Reward Boxes.
Viking coins are a limited resource so use them wisely. You will need to choose which elements of this event to play as you cannot afford to play them all unless you purchase more Viking Coins.
You can expect to receive the following amounts of Viking Coins over the course of the event:
Given at start | 50 | |
Quest milestones | 50+100 | 150 |
22 Daily logins | 22 x 20 | 440 |
30 Rush quests | 30 x 5 | 150 |
21 Daily quests | 21 x 30 | 630 |
At 600 progress | 20 | |
At 1000 progress | 40 | |
Incidents | Estimate | 100 |
Daily challenges
(chance of 5, 10 or 50 coins each day) |
Minimum
20 x 5 |

TOTAL | 1680 | |
---|---|---|
'Easy' Daily Tasks
(50% chance of each task giving coins) |
potentially 22 x 10 | 220 |
Ragnar Rival Challenges | 6 x 30 | 180 |
TOTAL available if can complete all tasks | 2080 |
Viking Coins can also be purchased for diamonds at the following rates:
- 10 Viking Coins for 150 diamonds
- 50 Viking Coins for 620 diamonds
- 200 Viking Coins for 2400 diamonds
The Viking Wheel[]
You share the same wheel with everyone in your neighborhood and compete for the prizes. The wheel will remain until all the prizes are claimed or someone refreshes it.
You can turn off the wheel spinning animation with the Skip button. This does not impact gameplay.
In order to throw axes at the wheel and collect prizes you need to use Viking Coins. Each axe throw costs 10 Viking Coins. You can choose to throw a single axe for 10 Viking Coins or 3 axes for 30 Viking Coins or 5 axes for 50 Viking Coins. You can also choose to Throw at the current wheel for the currently displayed prizes, or Refresh & Throw to refresh the wheel (for the whole neighborhood) and bring up a whole new set of prizes before your axes land.
Prizes on the wheel include 1 Gold Circle prize, 3 or 4 Silver Circle prizes and 4-5 Green Circle Prizes. The Gold Circle prize can be claimed once from each wheel, each Silver Circle prize can be claimed twice, and each Green Circle Prize can be claimed 4 times.
Each axe thrown will land on one circle and let you claim one prize. If you throw multiple axes at once, some can land on the same circle if there are still multiple prizes available to be claimed. Axes will not land on circles where all prizes have been claimed.
Each axe thrown and prize claimed will grant you 10 progress in the Grand Prize progress line. If you hit a prize circle with a Rune Token you get an additional 2 progress.
Take care when throwing axes or you may not have enough Viking Coins to complete other event activities. Budget your Viking Coins carefully.
Viking Runes[]
Rune Tokens[]
Three types of Rune Tokens are available to be collected: Thurisaz (pink), Uruz (green), and Ansuz (blue). You collect these by hitting them on the Viking Wheel, completing Daily Tasks and from the Rival Challenges.
Rune tokens are collected in your Rune Rewards bars. Once all 3 bars are full (at 10 runes) you can claim the Rune Chest Rewards. You can do this multiple times across the event, anytime you have collected enough runes.
The maximum any rune bar can hold is 30 runes – if one of your bars fills to this level you will not be able to collect any more runes until you claim the rune rewards or rebalance your runes. It is important therefore to try and keep your runes roughly even.
Rebalancing Runes[]
This removes runes from the bar with the most runes and redistributes them to the bar with the least runes. The first rebalance each day (resetting at midnight server time) is 1:1, meaning you take 1 rune from the highest bar and add 1 rune to the lowest bar. The second rebalance each day is 2:1, meaning you take away 2 runes from your highest bar to gain 1 in your lowest. All subsequent rebalances each day are at 3:1, meaning you take 3 from your highest bar to gain 1 in your lowest. It is therefore useful to try and utilise the first cheap rebalances each day as much as you can to avoid having to use too many expensive 3:1 rebalances.
Claiming Rune Rewards[]
When all rune bars are full you have the option to claim rune rewards chests. Six chests are available to be opened each time. The first one is free, and then you can optionally choose to open more by spending Viking Coins. Prizes from each of the six shown prizes are shuffled into the chests randomly, they are not associated with a particular chest.
Take care when spending Viking Coins to open Rune Reward chests or you may not have enough to complete other event activities. Budget your Viking Coins carefully.
The costs for opening additional chests are:
- 1st chest – free
- 2nd chest – 20 Viking Coins
- 3rd chest – 30 Viking Coins (50 total for opening 3 chests)
- 4th chest – 50 Viking Coins (100 total for opening 4 chests)
- 5th chest – 100 Viking Coins (200 total for opening 5 chests)
- 6th chest – 200 Viking Coins (400 total for opening 6 chests)
If you open all 6 chests at once you can open them at the discounted rate of 250 Viking Coins for all 6 chests.
Opening all six chests also gives you an additional Rune Bonus Chest containing fragments of the Drakkar Pyre.
The Drakkar Pyre takes 400 fragments to assemble and you can get 200 fragments (71% chance), 400 fragments (22% chance) or 800 fragments (7% chance) in the Rune Bonus Chest.
After opening all six chests you can spend additional Viking Coins to open further chests, each set being more expensive.
Once you have opened all the chests you wish to, you can leave and return to the Viking Wheel.
The prizes potentially available in the chests are:
- 100 goods, 150 goods, 200 goods, 250 goods, 300 goods, 40 Next Age Goods, 70 Next Age Goods or Special Units
- Gatehouse Emporium Ensemble Selection Kit, Berserkers Wrath Golden Selection Kit, Oarcrest Fall Golden Selection Kit or Oarcrest Fjord Platinum Selection Kit

Daily Tasks[]
There are 6 Daily Tasks available to complete each day, resetting at midnight. These appear in 3 task slots, with a second task appearing each day in each task slot once the first one is completed and claimed.
It is not necessary to complete all daily tasks, and you may not have enough Viking Coins to do all 6 every day of the event, depending on your event strategy.
The first task slot contains ‘easy’ tasks such as throwing an axe or collecting a reward from the Viking Wheel that reward you with 4 rune tokens, or 'easy' tasks such as claiming rune rewards or rebalancing runes that reward you with 30 Viking Coins.
The second task slot contains ‘medium’ tasks such as throwing 3 axes at once, collecting 2 of a specific rune token or collecting 2 rewards from the Viking Wheel. Each task rewards you with 10 fragments of the Historic Ally Ragnar Lodbrok.
The third task slot contains ‘difficult’ tasks such as throwing 5 axes at once or collecting 3 rewards from the Viking Wheel. Each task rewards you with 10 fragments of the Eternal Market Platinum Selection Kit.

Tips[]
- When asking you to throw axes, each daily task may specify to Throw without refreshing, or to Refresh and Throw. These need to be fulfilled exactly as specified.
- Daily tasks asking you to collect specific rune tokens are NOT fulfilled by completing other daily tasks giving those rune tokens. You can collect the relevant rune tokens by hitting them on the Viking Wheel, rebalancing your rune bars if the one you need is the one that will gain from the rebalance, or collecting Rival Challenge rewards.

Quests[]

The event features two questlines presented by Yrdiska - 30 Main Quests and 21 Daily Quests. Every solved quest grants the player some Viking Coins. The quests have to be solved in the order they are presented and no quests are abortable.
These Quests will stack until you have completed the Main Questline. So you will not miss any if you do not complete the Main Quests on the first day. After completing the Main Questline, you will be able to complete stacked Daily Quests without any delay and after that, one quest per day.
Note: Where the word "some" appears in the quest text below, the amount differs depending on the Age the player is at. To get a better idea of your exact requirements Click Here and use the Tables provided, please be aware that the Final Table is incomplete.
