The B.E.L.T. is an artillery military unit of the Space Age Asteroid Belt. It is unlocked by the technology Nonlinear Laser Pulse and can be trained in the B.E.L.T. Site. It is preceded by the Sniperbot and succeeded by the Power Dragon. It has the special skills Keen Eye and Blast. Like all other units, it takes 4 hours to train and heals at a rate of 24 minutes per hit point.
The BELT is preceded by the Sniperbot. Compared to them, the BELT gains 150 attack and defense. Despite losing 2 range and 4 movement points, it does have an increase in initiative from 15 to 20 and it has the special skills Keen Eye at 25% and Blast.
They are succeeded by the Power Dragon.
Usage[]
The BELT's increase in initiative does give it a much better advantage than the Sniperbot before it, and being in an age where three of five same-age units have melee range, the BELT is particularly useful in this era, along with the Nail Storm. With its great range, it can easily take on light and heavy units, but they are still totally vulnerable to fast units as they cannot attack them, and ranged units that have higher initiative can still give them trouble, despite its range advantage.
The Power Dragon of the next age will be a significantly stronger upgrade to the BELT.
Against Same Age Units[]
Hover Hammer[]
The Hover Hammer, being a Flying unit, is immune to the BELT's attacks, so they should be avoided or at least supported when facing the Hover Hammer.
Nail Storm[]
The match-up is fairly even as both sides have long range and somewhat even attack and defense, though the Nail Storm does have the advantage of being able to strike first when facing the BELT, which proves them stronger against them, as they can eliminate more BELTs on the first turn. However, if they are not eliminated quickly, the BELT can deal a lot of damage to the Nail Storm, and ignore their Stealth, which is also useful.
B.E.L.T.[]
BELTs can be used to effectively counter BELTs, only if you have them in greater number to maximise first turns on your side, or use rogues to negate the initial damage of the BELT. When facing more than 4 BELTs, flying units are generally better to sort them out.
Shredder[]
Having a great range advantage as well as a strong attack makes the Shredder easy work for the BELT. The BELT attack the Shredder many times before the Shredder can counterattack.
Drill Ranger[]
For the same reason, the Drill Ranger falls easily to the great range advantage of the BELT. However, the Drill Ranger does have quite a lot of movement, so if they are not eliminated quickly, the BELT may suffer from their high attack.
