Description[]
The Champion is a special military unit released during the 2014 Easter Event. These units have a variety of age-dependent bonuses, but they all possess the special abilities of chivalry and call of duty.
The Champion is a fast unit, but from the postmodern era and onward it becomes a heavy unit.

The Champion from the Bronze Age to the Modern Era should be used the same as the same age fast unit, as they have the same statistics with the addition of the two special abilities Chivalry and Call of Duty. The only exception is to possibly use one Champion per army in order to trigger the Chivalry bonus, as it can be a good increase in attack and defense in the Early Ages, especially if you do not have much of an attack and defense boost. (For the Colonial Age onwards, the Chivalry bonus is often negligible, due to low attack and defense bonus). The Call of Duty bonus is also quite insignificant as it only increases the attack and defense bonus by a minuscule amount, and only takes place if a Champion dies.
In the Postmodern Era, the Champion then becomes a heavy unit, though it still has the same stats as the corresponding fast unit, the IFV, making it a somewhat weird champion of the era.
In the Contemporary Era to Space Age Mars, the Champion then becomes a fully equipped heavy unit, with bonuses against fast units and ranged units and on plains, with a range of 10 and movement speed of 22, at the cost of lacking the special skills possessed by the heavy unit of each age (as the Champion will still have the Chivalry and Call of Duty skills, both of which are rather useless). Sometimes this is advantageous, as in the Contemporary Era; the Champion has a marginally higher defense than the Assault Tank, at the cost of not having the Reactive Armor ability, and in the Tomorrow Era, where the Champion is stronger in terms of everything compared to the Stealth Tank at the cost of not having the Stealth ability. Other times, such as in the Future Era, the Hover Tank proves stronger than the Champion, as the former have better range and Force Field and Stealth ability, despite not having as much attack strength and bonus on plains. In some cases you must decide when using a Champion would be better in certain ages and circumstances of battle and when to avoid Champions at certain ages.
In the Space Age Asteroid Belt upward, the Champion most noticeably has lower range and slightly lower movement, the same as the corresponding heavy units of their age. However, they do possess slightly higher attack and defense values, terrain and class bonuses and a much larger Call of Duty bonus thought they do not have the much better skills of the heavy units.
