The Color Guard is a heavy special military unit released during the 2016 Easter Event. This unit has no attack and defense bonuses, but it possesses the special rally skill. They can be produced in the Color Guard Camp for 150 and 150 .
Color guards have the rally skill which gives a 12% bonus to defense and attack to all friendly units in a battle. However, this only works once. Therefore, having two color guards still gives a 12% bonus.
One important thing to note is that Color Guards have no age, and therefore they have the same attack and defense values for every age. This makes them good attackers and defenders up to the EMA. After the Iron Age Color Guards lose most of their effectiveness because same age units have much more attack and defense than the Color Guard. Using the Color Guard into the Colonial Age is similar to using a Legionnaire from the Iron Age with an attack bonus. Therefore, Color Guards are useful early in the game, but eventually lose their effectiveness, especially since great buildings such as the Zeus can give combat bonuses in place of color guards.
Color Guards, along with Rogues, Military Drummers, and Champions have the longest healing times in the game with two hours and 24 minutes to heal one hit point. Healing time is reduced by guild bonuses.
