Although most quests are not very difficult to solve, some would take quite some time if tackled in the intended/regular way. This article shall help you complete different quests' tasks with some tricks and tips however it also explains what different requirements mean. Please keep in mind that some of these Tips speed up the solving of the quest dramatically, but need quite some resources (mainly coins, supplies or tavern silver) to be invested, as well as items from your inventory. In Events, more time consuming or difficult quests often have alternatives in the form of donating goods to the treasury.

Furthermore some quests can't have tips or tricks or even really an explanation, for example, pay 10 salt or 10 rope . You just have to pay one of them.

Please keep in mind that this page is mainly intended for players starting out new in a world or for players fresh to the game. Later gamers often have solutions to the

Complete other Quest(s)[]

This task can be finished by doing Story Quests. Side Quests. Recurring Quests. Bonus Quests or Event Quests. The easiest way to complete it is by doing the Recurring Quests, especially the Unbirthday Party or R'lyeh.

Battle and Units related quests[]

Defeat Army[]

Use tavern boosts and potions in case you are not able to solve the encounter without and on Event quests there is always an alternative.

Win battle(s)[]

All battles besides the ones in the Egyptian Settlement count for these quests/tasks:
Neighborhood battles (you need only to attack the player's city)
Guild Expeditions
Guild vs. Guild (GvG)
Guild Battlegrounds
Battles in Event Quests or the Daily Challenge

Defeat Units[]

It is unnecessary to win the fight - you can just abort it before your own units take damage. This can be done in Guild Expedition fights (but will cost you tries) or you can leave a sector of an early eras province unconquered but infiltrated and attack repeatedly the same, until you reach the necessary kill count. Best choose a sector for this that has no artillery and few to none fast units. Remember to surrender the fight before all enemy units are dead, so the sector stays unconquered. If you use artillery units only, you usually do not even take damage.

Recruit Units[]

It is important to remember that this doesn't mean you have to produce them and so Guild Expeditions Level 4 per-big encounter rewards are the best way of doing it followed by an Alcatraz. If they are not required to be the same age, remember that Spears may come in handy to complete this quest.Royal Bathhouse produces up to 10 same age military units depending on its level. Governor's Villa also produces up to 4 military units depending on its level. The Timeless Dojo produces 1 military unit at level 5.

Continent Map[]

Acquire Sectors (fight and/or negotiate)[]

Make sure to save enough completable sectors to complete these quests. Note that some provinces in the early ages do not have to be taken to progress with the story, so save up as many sectors as possible if you are running out. There will always be an alternative to this quest during events. Make sure to acquire the sector as requested by the quest, otherwise it will not count if you fight when you are supposed to acquire the sector without fighting.

Gain Control over a Province[]

Make sure to save enough completable provinces to complete these quests. Note that some provinces in the early ages do not have to be taken to progress with the story, so save up as many as possible if you are running out. It is also best to have one sector remaining before acquiring the province. There will always be an alternative to this quest during events.

Scout a Province[]

Make sure to save enough completable provinces to complete these quests. Note that the province is scouted once you go into the Continent Map and the scout timer is finished. So you can instantly complete this quest if you visit the Continent Map and have a scouted sector but have not visited the Continent Map beforehand. There will always be an alternative to this quest during events.

Guild Expedition[]

Complete Guild Expedition Encounters[]

Make sure to have as many attempts as possible if you can't buy them before reaching this quest, and make sure you can carry on this quest to higher levels (so be in an active guild), otherwise it may be better to only do Guild Expedition when this quest comes up. Completing all of Guild Expedition will also autocomplete this quest. If you get given this quest on a Monday, completing all of GE the day before allows you to autocomplete this quest. There will always be an alternative to this quest during events.

Have the First Level of Guild Expedition complete[]

Always make sure to do Guild Expedition Level 1 weekly so that this quest autocompletes. If you get given this quest on a Monday, completing all of GE the day before allows you to autocomplete this quest. There will always be an alternative to this quest during events.

Finish Productions[]

Of a specific time[]

You will have to plan ahead by looking at the quests ahead on the wiki here. You can also use supply rushes and finish production items if you feel like it as well. Blacksmiths can be very good as they take up very little space and you can mass produce for these quests.

Of a specific age (current and/or previous age)[]

You must make sure to have as many same age or previous age production buildings here. If it does not specify a time, you should do 5 minute productions to complete them as quick as possible.

One of each production length once[]

To successfully complete this quest, make sure to have some special production buildings producing 8 and 24 hour options every day, which would automatically complete them both. Preparing for this quest is also very good to rush as well. Then, have production buildings produce different times to complete as quickly as possible (some people forget that they don't have to have all production buildings producing at the same length). This quest can be very difficult if you have 5/6 completed and you forget which one you didn't do, some make sure to keep track.

Tavern[]

Visit Taverns[]

Make sure to have a lot of friends in order to complete this quest. To be totally successful at doing this, you should only visit taverns during quests that tell you to do so, otherwise you may have to wait a whole day in order to complete this quest.

Collect Tavern Silver[]

Collecting from your own Friends Tavern and also tavern silver you get (with 20% chance) while visiting Friends' Tavern counts towards the number of Tavern silver you need to collect, though the amount is minuscule and should only be done if you are very close to completing the quest. You can increase amounts of silver you get by upgrading tray & floor in your own Friends Tavern. Also plan ahead by looking at the quests ahead on the wiki here so that you can work out how long till you get to the quest versus how long it takes to have your tavern full of people.

Activate Tavern Boosts[]

You want to use the quickest boost and that is the 15 minutes Guild Expedition extra turn one. However, you can also use the +10% attack one as that costs half the price and is somewhat useful, though it lasts slightly longer. Note that once you have a tavern boost activated, you cannot cancel it (and will have to wait the entire duration), but you can spend 50 diamonds to activate another one simultaneously, though after either boost ends, you will not permanently have the second slot open.

Spend Tavern Silver[]

You can buy tablecloths, trays and floorboards to complete this quest. However, you can also buy tavern boosts so make sure to buy the least expensive one that can fulfil the quest instantly, in order to save Silver and rush the quest. Note that once you have a tavern boost activated, you cannot cancel it (and will have to wait the entire duration), but you can spend 50 diamonds to activate another one simultaneously, though after either boost ends, you will not permanently have the second slot open.

City Resources[]

Gain (Total) Population[]

If the quest is just gain population, you can just build and sell barracks or production buildings.

However if it is total population you will need to actually build a residential building however a good way to do this is with the Multistory House, Stilt House or Hut as these are the only non-premium residential buildings that have very fast build times. Best and easiest way is to use the much maligned 'store building' to store a Special Building with a high population quotient (Governors Villa produces 273 -13,649 depending on Era) and then rebuild it from your inventory. Doing so will reset the building reward so pick your moment. Or you can prepare for this quest by building enough residential buildings beforehand, or start construction on

Gain Happiness[]

Redo your roads, or build and delete memorial decorations (fast and free) Best and easiest way is to use the much maligned 'store building' to store a Special Building with a high happiness quotient (Governers Villa produces 1350-24,540 depending on Era) and then rebuild it from your inventory. Doing so will reset the building reward so pick your moment. You can also build 2x2 decorations, which also give a good portion of happiness. Even better you can build and sell Faces of the Ancient or Gates of the Sun God, as these are often the most useless items in your inventory if you don't have the upgrades.

Gather Goods[]

All Goods gained apart from in Cultural Settlements count though it is best to do circle trades with guild, or look in the market for guild or normal trades you can take. Goods can also be received from Quests, your city production such as from Goods Buildings and Special Buildings (residential and production), though they do take a long time to produce, so it is often better to prioritize to the market to gain goods much faster.

Collect Coins or Supplies[]

The intended way to get coins and supplies is to collect from your city, and the easiest way to do this is to have a daily collection ready to be collected and collect accordingly. While quest rushing, make sure to save your daily production and only collect an approximate amount of the required collection.

The best way to complete this is to build and sell normal buildings from your build menu. To gain coins fast, you can build Production Buildings as these cost a lot more coins than supplies, and to gain supplies, you can build supply expensive Cultural Buildings and Goods Buildings. Note that it is the selling action that produces the coins and supplies. You can also build buildings from your inventory as well, if you do not wish to spend too many coins and supplies to complete these quests.

Coins and supplies can also be rewarded in Guild Expeditions and the Continent Map, though they are not the best solution to complete these quests, as they do not provide much and they are non-renewable.

Incidents[]

Plan ahead by looking at the quests ahead on the wiki here so that you can work out how long till you get to the quest and then subtract about 12 hours. From that time to the when you have the quest do not pick up any incidents. Or just don't pick up any incidents until a quest asks you to. There will always be an alternative to this quest.

Make Enthusiastic[]

Use tavern boosts if they they are not all ready enthusiastic. With this in mind make sure to always keep your population enthusiastic.
