The Exoskeleton Soldier is the light military unit of the Future Era. It is unlocked through the Human-Machine Interface technology, and is trained in an Exoskeleton Factory. It can also be received by completing the An Old Acquaintance (Future) and Bisoraba Action Story Quests.
The Exoskeleton Soldier has a moderate attack and defense in the Future Era, as well as moderate movement and range. It has strong bonuses against fast and heavy units, as well as a moderate terrain bonus in Houses and a smaller bonus in Rubble. They also possess two skills: Blast, so they can target hiding units in hiding at range, and Close Quarters, upgrading their melee attack by 80 points of damage.
Usage[]
The Exoskeleton Soldier is very strong when fighting in close combat and are also well adapted to tackle Stealth units, especially the Stealth Tank and Hover Tank, as their bonuses against heavy units also comes into action. They are very efficient against units in the Tomorrow Era and below, except the Anti-Materiel Sniper, Anti-Aircraft Vehicle and possibly the MG Team, when received as a higher era unit.
However, after the Future Era, the Exoskeleton Soldier will be significantly weaker, due to their low attack and defense, and they will be killed rather easily, especially as units in the Arctic Future and beyond have much greater attack and defense.
Against Same Age Units[]
Hover Tank[]
The Exoskeleton Soldier is strong against the Hover Tank, especially as the Exoskeleton Soldier can avoid their Stealth on Plains ability and they have bonuses against heavy units. The only limitations to the Exoskeleton Soldier's effectiveness against the Hover Tank is the Hover Tank's Force Field ability, which does decrease the damage they do against the Hover Tank, and you will need a sufficiently good enough attack boost in order to effectively kill them.
Drone Swarm[]
The Exoskeleton Soldier is the best choice to fight the Drone Swarm, especially when you use one or two Exoskeleton Soldiers and six or seven rogues. As the Drone Swarm is only a melee unit, they will face a deadly retaliation each time they attack, with the full force of the Close Quarters, Blast and class attack bonus against them. Meanwhile, the good mobility and range of the Exoskeleton Soldier means that they can attack the Drone Swarm at a safe distance and kill them in two hits.
Satellite Spotter[]
The Satellite Spotter is a very big threat to the Exoskeleton Soldier. The Satellite Spotter has better movement and much more range than the Exoskeleton Soldier, including a massive attack and defense bonus when fighting the Exoskeleton Soldier. The Satellite Spotter can attack Exoskeleton Soldiers from the first turn, dealing massive amounts of damage to them, whilst Exoskeleton Soldiers are unable to deal much damage against them back.
Rail Gun[]
The Rail Gun is also a big threat to the Exoskeleton Soldier, especially as the Rail Gun not only has massively high attack, defense and range, but also strong bonuses against light units. The Recharge skill of the Rail Gun may allow Exoskeleton Soldiers to do more damage against Rail Guns over time, but Exoskeleton Soldiers can still be easily killed by Rail Guns and Exoskeleton Soldiers are still very ineffective at taking out Rail Guns.
