Medals

Medals are a resource whose main purpose is to unlock victory expansions. The number of medals needed to unlock next expansion increases with each expansion that has already been purchased. The cost of each victory expansion can be viewed here.

Uses

Medals can be used for:

• Buying expansions for your city.
• Buying extra attempts for the Guild Expeditions and PvP Arena.
• Negotiating in the Guild Expeditions.
• Paying crew members for Arctic Harbor and Oceanic Terminal.
• Unlocking defending armies and placing sieges in the All Ages province of the Guild vs. Guild map.
• Producing goods or special goods via Synthesizers.

Getting Medals

Special Buildings

Many special buildings produce medals. Some produce them automatically and must be collected after certain amount of time (usually 24 hours). Some special production buildings give medals as an option to be produced in a similar manner as production buildings produce supplies. Some special buildings might give medals randomly as one of the possible rewards, for example the Wishing Well.

The amount of medals produced depends on the age of the building. Therefore the medals production will increase when the building is advanced to the next age with the Renovation Kit or the One Up Kit.

Great Building Contributions

Medals can be earned by contributing forge points to other players Great Buildings. The amounts depend on the level of the Great Building and the building itself.
The amount gained is increased by The Arc. Therefor the Arc is usually considered the best source for gaining medals.

Great Buildings

Many of the Great Buildings also produce medals. The amount of medals depends on the level of the Great Building. Those buildings are listed below:

Building		Medals produced
	Colosseum	Provides 10 medals at level 1 and 35 medals at level 10. After level 10 additional 2-3 additional medals are gained with each level. Colosseum is considered as a bad option for medal production considering its large footprint.
	Deal Castle	Provides 40 medals at level 1 and 170 medals at level 10. After level 10 additional 9-16 medals are gained with each level.
	Gaea Statue	Provides 127 medals at level 1 and 367 medals at level 10. After level 10 additional 30 or less medals are gained with each level. The amount lessens with higher levels.
	The Blue Galaxy	Provides 140 medals at level 1 and 414 medals at level 10. After level 10 additional 33 or less medals are gained with each level. The amount lessens with higher levels.
	Space Carrier	While before Arctic Future, provides 10 medals at level 1 and 26 medals at level 10. After level 10 additional 2 or less medals are gained with each level. The amount lessens with higher levels. In Arctic Future and beyond provides the same amount of special goods instead.
	Flying Island	When collecting a Rare shard, there is a chance to receive current era Gigantic package of medals.
	Seed Vault	When aiding, there is a chance to receive a small amount of medals as an additional reward.

Quests

Medals can be earned from completing quests. Some quests have medals as a reward, while others have a random reward with a chance of it being medals (for example recurring quests). The medals earned from random rewards increase when the player progresses through the ages. For exact amounts see Random Quest Rewards.

Daily Challenges also have a chance of rewarding medals.

Guild Expedition

Guild Expeditions have medals as one of the possible rewards in the uncommon Gold Relic statue. Medals can also be earned from some of the level IV chests in the Guild Expeditions.

Events

Some events have medals as one of the possible rewards.

Incidents

Common and uncommon incidents have a chance to reward medals. Also the amount depends on the players age. For exact amounts see Incident Rewards.

Plundering

Plundering other players from the neighborhood can also reward the plunderer with medals if the plundered building produces them. In need of medals the player may target those buildings purposefully.

PvP Arena

Some medals are awarded each week depending on players' ranking in PvP Arena and age.

PvP Tournaments

Medals can be earned by achieving a medal positions in the PVP Tournaments. For exact amount see PVP Tournament rewards.

Antiques Dealer

In Antiques Dealer medals can be either purchased from the shop or won in auction.

Emissaries

Some Emissaries will add a medal production to your town hall when placed into an Emissary slot. The amount depends on the players age.

Medal Packages

Medal packages are sometimes awarded during events or Guild Expeditions. The amount of medals included in every package differs with age. There are five different sizes of medal packages.
