Mortar is a special ability for military units allowing their shots to also cause 50% damage to the units within X tiles range around the target unit.

- While Flying units and Stealth units cannot be directly attacked by artillery, they will be hit by the extra damage from his skill.
- The 50% damage is rounded down to the nearest hit point (so an indirect Mortar shot deals 3 damage on a unit that would have taken 7 damage). The only exception is when the direct hit deals 1 damage, and surrounding units will take 1 damage.
- Against Reactive Armor units, the targeted unit will take the damage cap, and surrounding units will take half of the damage cap, assuming you can deal as much damage as the damage cap.
- Against Force Field units, the targeted unit will take the full damage and then absorb two hit points (like normal), but surrounding units will take half the damage, and then the unit will absorb the 2 hit points off of that.
