The Musketeer is the ranged Units of the Colonial Age and the first unlocked unit of the Colonial Age tech tree.
They possess a respectable level of offensive strength, but they are defensively frail, having the second weakest defensive stats of all Colonial Age units. The unit's movement stats match those of its predecessor, the Longbow Archer. It has greatly improved stats compared to the Longbow Archer (attack+6, defense+6, range+1). It is best used against Grenadiers, better with imperial guards. It is weak against Dragoons and the Field Gun.
