The Sniperbot is an artillery military unit of the Space Age Mars. it is trained in a Sniperbot Facility.
Compared to its predecessor, the Rocket Troop, the Sniperbot has exactly double the attack and defense, along with a slight increase in movement and range. They have bonuses against light and heavy units, and like other Space Age units, they have the Keen Eye ability at 20% along with the Heat ability which lowers enemies' attacks by 50% at the cost of losing the Mortar ability. Their initiative value (the order of movement) is 15, which means they move in line with Hover Tanks, which is significantly lower than the Rocket Troop's 25.
Usage[]
Despite upgrading the Rocket Troop with its doubled attack and defense (with a tad extra movement and range), it falls short of them due to the loss of the Mortar ability as well as a decrease in its initiative value. With this in mind, if you have a stronger attack boost over the enemy, the Rocket Troop can almost certainly replace the Sniperbot in all cases, especially when fighting previous-age units and even in the Space Age Mars as a whole. In fact, the only case where you may find them better is when enemy units put pressure on the Rocket Troop's low attack and defense.
Ignoring the Rocket Troop, however, the Sniperbot can effectively sort out armies with light and heavy units (unless they have Stealth, Reactive Armor, or Flying) and they can also eliminate previous-age ranged units very easily too. In the Space Ages, they have weaknesses when fighting ranged units, as they can move before them and possibly attack them on the first turn, and fast units, as the Sniperbot is unable to attack them. The B.E.L.T. of the next age is a much better upgrade to the Sniperbot.
Against Same Age Units[]
Sentinel[]
As the Sniperbot is unable to attack the Sentinel, they should be avoided totally or at least supported when facing the Sentinel.
Tesla Walker[]
The Tesla Walker is a threat to the Sniperbot especially as the Tesla Walker can move first and potentially attack the Sniperbot. However, the Sniperbot can still finish the Tesla Walker in two hits provided you have a good attack boost. As long as there are not too many Tesla Walkers, rogues can be used to absorb their initial damage and the Sniperbot will not be hindered too significantly.
Sniperbot[]
The Sniperbot may be used to counter the Sniperbot, provided you have more Sniperbots on your side to cut out their turns, or use rogues to absorb the enemy Sniperbot's attacks. If there are quite a lot of Sniperbots, consider using Sentinels instead.
Steel Warden[]
The Sniperbot is very strong against the Steel Warden, especially as the Sniperbot can move first and cause a wave of damage to the Steel Wardens. As the Steel Warden will take two turns to reach the Sniperbot, the Sniperbot can then cause another wave of damage onto them, and potentially destroy all the Steel Wardens, resulting in a perfect victory. The only drawback to them, however, is the Steel Warden's Force Field ability and their high defense, which may prohibit the Sniperbot from effectively killing them in time and resulting in some damage having to be taken, especially in high scaled boosts.
Space Marine[]
For the same reason, the Sniperbot can also make short work of the Space Marine, particularly as the Sniperbot can attack the Space Marine many times, most likely resulting in a victory before the Space Marines will even reach the Sniperbots.
