Spearfighters are the first units you receive in the game, later on you can train them at the Spearfighter Barracks. The technology required to make Spearfighters is Spears, so you must have it researched if you want to train this unit. You also need to build the Spearfighter Barracks to train this unit.
The Spearfighters are the main units in early age in the game as they are much cheaper and having balance attack and defense value. Spearfighters have the defensive bonus when they are in bush and forest terrain, adding 2 and 3 defence point respectively. Another advantage of Spearfighters is they having attack bonus against Fast Unit(Cavalry) such as Horseman , adding 3 attack value to them .
