The Stealth Tank is the Heavy Unit of the Tomorrow Era. It is built in a Stealth Tank Factory. It has unit bonuses against both Ranged and Fast Units, and has stealth on plains. It is vulnerable to both Light and Artillery Units. It can also be received by completing the Who Pulls the Strings?, and Strike Fast, Strike Hard Story Quests.
Compared to the Assault Tank of the previous age, the Stealth Tank gains 15 attack and defense, but loses a bit of movement and quite a significant amount of range. Bonuses against ranged units are decreased slightly, and it has no terrain bonuses whatsoever.
However, the Stealth Tank gains the Stealth ability on plains. Whilst on plains, the Stealth Tank can only be attacked on an adjacent tile. It also means the Stealth Tank is invisible at the start of the battle too (as all units start on a plains tile in the beginning of a battle).
Usage[]
The Stealth Tank is a very useful unit to use, because of their Stealth ability on plains, which is the most common tile on the battlefield, especially if they are used against units in the Contemporary Era and below, as none of them (except the Howitzer) can attack them at range.
However, the Stealth Tank’s weakness is its low range. Units with the Contact! ability can still retaliate against them and many light and artillery units from the Tomorrow Era upwards will have the Blast ability which means that they can attack the Stealth Tank at range.
Also note that if the Stealth Tank is not on plains, they will be in an extremely vulnerable position. It is always better to skip an attack than to become visible to attack an enemy unit.
Against Same Age Units[]
Anti-Materiel Sniper[]
The Stealth Tank is the best counter to the Anti-Materiel Sniper, especially as the Stealth Tank can easily hide over their long range of the battlefield, and attack them whilst hiding on plains. Meanwhile, if the Anti-Materiel Sniper attacks the Stealth Tank on plains, they will suffer a terrible retaliation, especially as their Dug-In defense bonus is avoided.
Combat Drone[]
The Stealth Tank’s Stealth ability proves useful to prevent the Combat Drone attacking the Stealth Tank on the first turn, and the Stealth Tank can often attack them afterwards and deal a lot of damage against them. However, the extremely high attack strength of the Combat Drone can often deal considerable damage to the Stealth Tank if they are attacked, so the Stealth Tank should eliminate them before they deal too much damage.
Ultra AP[]
The Stealth Tank is rather weak against the Ultra AP. Although the Ultra AP cannot attack the Stealth Tank at range and they have slow movement, their bonuses against heavy units and their Contact! ability means that each time the Stealth Tank attacks them, they will have to endure a painful retaliation, unless they are dead after an attack. Generally, they are not a big problem if the Stealth Tanks are supported with other units or if you have a good enough attack and defense boost.
Microwave Blaster[]
The fact that the Microwave Blaster has the Blast ability to attack the Stealth Tank at range as well as bonuses against heavy units and the Heat ability (reducing the Stealth Tank’s attack strength) means that the Stealth Tank is quite ineffective against them. However, the Microwave Blaster is limited by a short range and moderately low attack and defense, so as long as you have a good enough attack and defense boost, they are again not a big threat.
Trivia[]
The Stealth Tank appears to be based on the Polish PL-01 concept tank, designed around a Swedish CV90120-T and assisted by a British weapons company.
