The Doctor is the eighth non-premium Cultural Building in the game. It is from the High Middle Ages, and provides 470 Happiness. Even though the Church is its predecessor, the Church is slightly better for Happiness than the Doctor. The technology Medicine is required to construct it. Many people will build this because it is much cheaper than the Church costing less than 1/9th the coins and less than half the supplies with a loss of only 10% happiness.
