The Missile Artillery is an artillery unit from the Contemporary Era. It is trained in a Missile Site, but it can also be received from the quest Who's the Madman?.
The Missile Artillery improves the Rocket Artillery by 5 attack and 35 defense. However, range and movement stays the same and bonuses against heavy and ranged units are decreased.
The Missile Artillery also possesses two unique abilities: One-Shot (Unit is removed from battle after attacking. The unit dies when battle is lost) and MIRV (Unit hits targeted units and between 1 and 3 additional units in range).
This makes the Missile Artillery rather different to all other units. On the one hand, they can hit multiple enemies at once. On the other hand, it can only be used for one attack, and has a very low attack. This also makes their rather good defense negligible as well because of the One-Shot ability.
Usage[]
The Missile Artillery’s One Shot ability and low damage makes them rather limited in battle, however, they are still effective at dealing a lot of damage on one attack, even if they are removed afterwards. They are often best used by deploying a few per battle and another unit type (with or without rogues). The Missile Artillery can attack and leave the battlefield whilst the remaining units can finish the enemy units, with often little injuries. You should never use a full army of Missile Artillery because if the enemy are not eliminated by one round of attacks, it is an automatic defeat. Another thing to note is that the Missile Artillery cannot target fast units with the flying ability and light units with the Stealth ability.
Generally speaking, the Missile Artillery isn’t a very popular unit, both due to their One Shot ability and low damage but they can be effective in some circumstances.
Against Same Age Units[]
Strike Team[]
The Missile Artillery is very vulnerable to the Strike Team. Their Rapid Deployment and Stealth ability and great bonuses can easily overpower the Missile Artillery and kill them before they can counterattack. Avoid using Missile Artillery in presence of Strike Teams.
Assault Tank[]
Missile Artilleries are the best counter to many Assault Tanks, only in low scaled boosts. As Assault Tanks cannot take more than 4 hit points of damage per attack, the MIRV ability of the Missile Artilleries can deal damage on many of them at once, but they will eventually be severely limited with their low attack and One Shot ability.
Attack Helicopter[]
The Missile Artilleries are totally vulnerable to the Attack Helicopter, given the fact that the Missile Artillery cannot attack them. If there are Attack Helicopters, Missile Artilleries shouldn't be used at all.
Anti-Aircraft Vehicle[]
Though the Missile Artillery has bonuses against ranged units, the difference it makes is very limited, however the Missile Artillery’s MIRV ability can strongly help in damaging many Anti-Aircraft Vehicles. Usually Assault Tanks are more useful for attacking Anti-Aircraft Vehicles, but the Missile Artillery can serve as a good finisher once the Anti Aircraft Vehicles have reduced health.
