The Virtual Future is the seventeenth age in Forge of Empires. It involves the player exploring the virtual future that resembles parts of Pangaea. The age's first part was released on 18 July, 2018 while the final part was released on 4 February 2019. It was released in 3 separate parts. The general style and theming of the age was partially inspired by Ghost in the Shell.
